The role
You’ll lead our research and consulting team: leading projects and then delivering on them. Think market research on unmanned systems in Ukraine, due diligence for investors, market-entry briefs for foreign companies, and advisory work on how militaries test and adopt new tech. You’ll report to the CEO and build out the team over time.
What you’ll do
Lead client engagements: scope the work, set the methodology, manage delivery, and present findings
Write and review research products, and hold them to a high standard on sourcing and accuracy
Work with me on business development: sit in on client calls, shape proposals, and turn conversations into signed work
Manage a pool of contractors, analysts, and subject-matter experts
Use our reporting and network to find the stories and data that make our research better than what clients can get elsewhere
Keep clients informed and handle sensitive information with care
What we’re looking for
Experience in research, due diligence, consulting, or investigative journalism, ideally having touched on defense, security, or emerging tech
Strong understanding of the Ukrainian defense industry, or the ability to get up to speed fast
Excellent writing: can explain complex things clearly and quickly to a client who’s busy
Experience running client-facing projects and managing people
Good judgment about sources, verification, and what you can and can’t claim
Comfortable working across time zones and with a distributed team
Location: Kyiv
Salary Range: Competitive, depending on experience
