FAQ

Common questions about this CV

Do UI designers need to code?

No, but a working understanding of HTML/CSS and how browsers render layouts goes a long way. You'll communicate with engineers faster and design things that are actually buildable.

What should I add if I'm transitioning from graphic design?

Include 2-3 personal projects where you've redesigned real interfaces, like a banking app, a marketplace, or a dashboard. Show the process, your hypotheses and the final decisions, not just polished visuals.

Should I list Photoshop as a skill?

You can, but don't put it first. Recruiters look for Figma above everything else; Photoshop reads as a nice-to-have for graphics work.

How many projects should my portfolio have?

Three to five strong case studies with full process beat twenty thin ones every time. Quality wins, especially at senior level.

How do I highlight design system experience?

Quantify it: number of components and tokens, how many teams use it, and how it changed delivery speed. That's the strongest signal a recruiter can pick up.
