At MacPaw, we craft software that makes everyday tech life simpler, cleaner, and more enjoyable. From globally loved products like CleanMyMac and Setapp to emerging cybersecurity tools like ClearVPN and Moonlock, we are building a product ecosystem that reaches millions of people worldwide.
We believe humans and technology can reach their greatest potential together. By fusing high engineering standards, thoughtful design, and practical AI, we rethink how people interact with their devices and shape the daily tech routines of the future.
Working at MacPaw means owning outcomes, not just tasks. We build for global scale from day one, giving you the trust, freedom, and room to experiment.
In our team, we challenge ideas directly, support each other genuinely, and build software that makes a meaningful difference — both in the tech world and beyond.
We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join Internal Automation Services, the team building and maintaining the internal systems and automations that support MacPaw’s day-to-day business operations.
The team works across a wide range of internal tools and integrations for the internal service teams. Its biggest focus is MacPaw’s ERP system (Odoo), which needs to be reliable enough for the business to confidently depend on its data and workflows, alongside a growing portfolio of smaller automation projects for internal clients.
As a QA Engineer, you’ll take ownership of test coverage across the team’s projects, with the strongest focus on Odoo. You’ll work closely with developers and another QA Engineer, choosing between manual, exploratory, and automated testing based on the needs and constraints of each project, while helping the team continuously improve its quality assurance and automation practices.
If you’re excited to bring structure, quality, and reliability to the internal systems that keep a company moving, we’d love to hear from you!
In this role, you will:
Analyze system requirements, business logic, and user flows across ERP modules (Odoo) and other internal projects to define appropriate test coverage
Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web applications and platform integrations
Design and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and checklists
Build, maintain, and improve automated test coverage where automation brings clear value
Collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and internal client teams to investigate defects and edge cases, identify root causes, document clear findings, and ensure reliable fixes
Contribute to continuously improving the team’s QA practices and overall software development lifecycle, including utilization of AI agentic approaches
Skills you’ll need to bring:
2+ years of hands-on QA experience, with demonstrated ownership of test coverage for at least one product or system
Solid understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, exploratory, risk-based)
Ability to design, write, and maintain test cases, checklists, and test plans, including for areas that require partial manual coverage (e.g., ERP modules, third-party integrations)
Understanding of client-server architecture and hands-on API testing (REST/GraphQL) using tools like Postman
Basic scripting ability (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python) to write and debug automated tests
Practical, hands-on experience with test automation frameworks — running, maintaining, and debugging automated test suites
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and working with Git-based version control (branching, PRs, reviewing test code)
High adaptability and comfort balancing manual/exploratory testing with automation based on system needs rather than treating automation as a one-size-fits-all default
Upper-Intermediate (B2+) level of English for working with internal knowledge bases, documentation, and cross-office communication
