About us TechBar is a software services company working with clients across the US and Europe. We are investor-backed, growing steadily, and known for putting senior, thoughtful people in front of our clients.
We are currently looking for a Data Architect to join our team. Data is becoming a bigger part of the conversations we have with prospects and existing clients, and we are looking for the right person to help us.
Who we are looking for A true architect who has seen how large data platforms are actually built, run, and evolved over years. You have probably led significant migrations, designed pipelines that handle thousands of entities, and worked closely with business stakeholders who care more about outcomes than technology names.
A few things that matter to us:
Depth and breadth. You are comfortable across warehouses, lakehouses, streaming, orchestration, and the modern cloud data ecosystem — Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and the data services on AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Business instinct. You can look at a client situation and quickly see what actually matters, not just what is technically interesting.
Systems thinking. Show you a slide, and you already see the whole architecture behind it.
Good to be around. Clients enjoy talking to you, and so do we.
The engagement This is a paid consulting arrangement on an hourly basis, not a full-time role. You would work with us in two ways:
Shaping our Data offering. Strategy, reference architectures, positioning, and the materials we take to market.
Joining pre-sales conversations. Acting as our senior technical voice on data in client meetings, solution design sessions, and estimations.
What we offer
Competitive hourly rate, discussed individually based on your background.
Real influence. A chance to shape an entire practice area from the ground up, with founders and a small, senior team.
Interesting challenges with clients who are willing to invest in doing data right.
Long-term partnership. The autumn season opens a steady flow of pre-sales work, and we would like to grow this together.
