The role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented technical writer with knowledge of Japanese to support the localization efforts of a desktop EDA software. In this role, you will help translate, test, validate, and refine the Japanese localization of our desktop applications, ensuring accuracy, technical correctness, and a comfortable user experience for Japanese-speaking users.
Test and verify the Japanese localization within the software UI.
Review translated strings for accuracy, technical correctness, and contextual relevance.
Identify, document, and report localization of defects.
Verify consistency of terminology across the application and accompanying documentation.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and UI/UX engineers to resolve localization issues.
Contribute to and maintain glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases for Japanese localization.
Write and update technical documentation related to localization testing.
What we are looking for:
Knowledge of Japanese at an intermediate level or above — sufficient to read and understand UI text, verify translations, and spot inconsistencies.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for linguistic and formatting inconsistencies.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
Intermediate English (for internal communication and documentation).
Will be a plus:
Higher level of Japanese proficiency.
Experience in technical writing, localization, translation review, or localization QA.
Experience with localization tools (CAT tools, Crowdin, Poedit, Lokalise, etc.).
Familiarity with electronics/semiconductor terminology in Japanese.
