About Quod Financial
Quod Financial is a leading global FinTech provider for capital markets, delivering trading, execution, and liquidity research solutions for stock exchanges, banks, and brokers across Equities, Derivatives, and FX. Headquartered in London, we operate globally with offices in Paris, Singapore, Dubai, Gdansk, Toronto, New York, and Cochin.
About the Project
We are launching a new division centered on a whitelabel digital payment gateway for merchants. The platform offers checkout solutions, payment links, invoicing, POS integrations, and automated payouts built on enterprise-grade security and a policy-governed transaction engine. Following an initial release to partners in September 2026, we are preparing for a full public launch in October 2026.
Why This Role Exists
Our technical operations currently depend on our CTO, who operates 9 hours behind CET. This creates a coverage gap for merchant-facing issues during European business hours. We are hiring a Technical Support Engineer to own CET coverage: someone who can independently triage platform issues, support merchant integrations, and ship reviewed code fixes as domain knowledge grows.
What You’ll Do
Act as the primary technical contact for merchants during CET hours (handling integration queries, transaction troubleshooting, and API/webhook debugging).
Diagnose issues across the end-to-end payment lifecycle: checkout, payment links, invoicing, POS systems, and automated payouts.
Investigate and resolve non-core issues (configurations, bug fixes) via code review rather than direct production access, escalating critical logic or security features to the CTO.
Proactively monitor platform health and transaction traffic to catch anomalies early.
Support merchant onboarding and identity/business verification (KYC/KYB) workflows.
Maintain internal runbooks and documentation to ensure technical knowledge isn’t siloed.
Coordinate daily handoffs, code reviews, and escalations with the CTO across time zones.
What We’re Looking For
Backend Engineering Aptitude: Strong background in backend development, comfortable reading and modifying an existing codebase (this goes beyond traditional ticketing support).
Domain Knowledge: Experience with or a strong technical interest in payment processing, payment gateways, or fintech infrastructure.
Integration Expertise: Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and end-to-end debugging between platform and client systems.
Time Zone Alignment: Based in or fully committed to working CET business hours.
Ownership: Comfortable making independent judgment calls on whether to resolve an issue directly or escalate it.
Communication: Excellent spoken and written English communication skills for partner-facing support and internal technical write-ups.
Will be a plus
Prior exposure to banking/gateway APIs or payment processing rails.
Experience with identity verification tools (e.g., Sumsub).
Access & Security
Access is role-based and strictly scoped to operational needs. This role does not include unreviewed production or core settlement access. All code changes undergo review by the CTO prior to deployment, with production permissions expanding as trust and tenure build.
