About the role
For a Senior Product Designer position, we are looking for an excellent systems thinker and accessibility advocate who thrives on delivering outcomes to stakeholders and for the business. The ideal candidate is able to demonstrate a proven track record of building and governing design systems for enterprise, data-heavy applications in a similar domain. We expect you to own a shared design system across multiple product teams, including the component library, accessibility standards, and an AI-assisted design review process, and we are committed to providing you with all the necessary means for our joint success.
What you’ll be doing
Own the shared component library and pattern documentation (navigation, tables and filters, forms, empty/error/loading states, mobile breakpoints)
Decide when a request becomes a new component or a variant of an existing one, and manage versioning, deprecation, and change communication
Set and enforce WCAG 2.2 AA across all products, audit existing interfaces, and lead accessibility remediation
Define color tokens and contrast rules that make accessibility failures hard to ship, and coach product and engineering teams on what to check
Own and tune the rules for an AI agent that reviews feature requirements and pull requests against design patterns and accessibility standards
Join discovery and refinement with product and engineering, producing 2–3 design options with clear tradeoffs for new workflows
Turn chosen design options into specs engineers can build from with confidence
What you’ll need
5+ years in product design, including at least 2 years owning or co-owning a design system or component library in production
Working command of WCAG 2.2 AA, with hands-on experience in contrast tooling, color-vision simulation, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader testing
Experience designing enterprise or data-heavy applications: dense tables, filters, dashboards, and multi-step workflows
Code literacy: ability to read a React pull request and judge whether it uses the right components, tokens, and states
Comfort working in Git-based repositories and participating in PR reviews
A governance track record: written contribution guidelines, run design reviews, and pushed back on one-off component requests with sound reasoning
Strong facilitation skills to lead design-options discussions with product and engineering and drive them to a decision
Advanced Figma skills (variables/tokens, component properties, libraries), Upper-Intermediate English or higher, and availability for core-hours overlap with Pacific time
Nice to have
Accessibility certification (IAAP CPACC or WAS)
Experience writing or maintaining AI prompts, skills, or agents in a delivery workflow (review bots, linting, LLM-based critique)
Design tokens shared between Figma and code (e.g., Style Dictionary, Tokens Studio)
Exposure to Palantir Foundry, Workshop, OSDK, or Blueprint, or experience designing for construction, field operations, or other industrial-domain users
What you’ll get at Syndicode
15 days of vacation, 11 days off for holidays, and 20 sick leave days per year
