The role and responsibilities: QA Engineer is primarily a manual testing role (roughly 85% manual). The room to contribute on automation (roughly 15%) when you have the bandwidth:
Own pre-launch and post-launch quality.
Run functional, regression, cross-browser, and mobile testing on storefronts and checkout flows.
Write clear, reproducible bug reports and track them in JIRA; document test cases in Confluence.
Contribute to automation: run scripts, read logs to diagnose failures, and (preferred) maintain our existing test framework.
Skills required:
Great communication skills: spoken and written English. We are direct-to-client.
Comfortable with our tooling: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and Slack.
Strong manual QA fundamentals: test case design, exploratory testing, regression testing, and disciplined bug reporting.
Shopify and e-commerce background is a huge plus.
Automation background at a minimum: able to run scripts and read through logs to investigate issues. Preferably experience with Cypress and JavaScript to contribute to our existing automation framework.
Job Type:
100% remote. Work where you want.
Working hours: PST or close to it, so you can support the team as needed for releases and time-sensitive verification.
Work split: roughly 85% manual testing, 15% automation. This is mostly a manual role; automation contribution is welcome when you have the bandwidth.
