FAQ

Common questions about this CV

How is a BI Analyst different from a Data Analyst?

BI Analysts focus on persistent dashboards, data modelling, and the company-wide semantic layer. Data Analysts do more ad-hoc work for product or marketing. In small teams it's the same person, in larger orgs they're separate tracks with different skill sets.

Which BI tool should I learn first: Tableau, Power BI, or Looker?

Power BI has the most openings in Ukraine and Europe due to the Microsoft footprint. Tableau dominates the US and large enterprises. Looker is growing in data-mature companies on BigQuery. Pick whatever your target jobs use, switching between them takes 2-3 weeks.

Do BI Analysts need Python?

Not critical, but very useful. Basic pandas and requests expand what you can do for ad-hoc analysis and automation, especially when the BI tool can't reach a data source. At senior level, Python is increasingly expected by default.

How do I show dashboards in my CV if my commercial work is under NDA?

Build a portfolio on public data: Kaggle, government portals, World Bank. One or two strong dashboards built around a real business question, hypothesis, and recommendation beat 10 shallow visualizations. Document your process, not just the output.
