FAQ

Common questions about this CV

Do baristas really need an SCA certificate?

Not required, but it raises your starting wage at specialty cafes. SCA Barista Foundation and Intermediate are the credentials owners actually recognize and pay for.

I have 6 months of experience. Can I apply at a specialty bar?

Yes if your CV shows curiosity. Add home V60 work, latte art clips and origin knowledge. Owners are happy to train someone clearly on the way up.

Should I list competitions and festivals?

Always, even regional rounds. A throwdown finalist line beats two years at a chain without progression. Wins go to the top of the CV.

How do I frame mobile bar or festival work?

It is a strong signal of pace. Quote daily volume, location and equipment. Large festivals are recognizable on their own.

Should I list pour-over skills if I rarely use them?

Be honest. 'Comfortable with V60 and Aeropress' is fine. 'Expert in alternatives' without a portfolio reads inflated and gets caught on a trail shift.
