About the role
PitchBook — a platform for investment professionals. Our software provides access to data and the analytical tools to get answers fast and discover promising opportunities. Uncovers actionable insights and trends hidden within the financial data of more than three million companies. Users all over the world include large corporations, start-ups, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and many others.
You will join the team, which owns and evolves key Direct Data and commercial workflow capabilities across the PitchBook Platform. The team supports domains including PitchBook API, CRM Integration, and related browser-based workflow experiences.
The team’s work enables clients to access PitchBook data via platform APIs, integrate PitchBook insights into CRM systems, manage uploaded lists, and integrate PitchBook profile data into external workflows, such as Chrome-based browsing experiences.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and integrations that power reliable data access, synchronization, and workflow automation for client-facing products. You will contribute to architecture, service reliability, API quality, and the long-term evolution of commercial integration capabilities.

As a qualified expert You will
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance services supporting PitchBook API, CRM Integration, and related commercial workflow capabilities.
Contribute to the architecture and evolution of distributed systems that expose PitchBook data to clients and external platforms.
Develop reliable data exchange, synchronization, and integration workflows between PitchBook systems and client-facing tools.
Support CRM-related integrations, including workflows connected to systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Dynamo, and other CRM platforms.
Improve API quality, documentation readiness, performance, reliability, and operational stability.
Ensure backend services are scalable, observable, secure, and maintainable.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to clarify requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in code quality, testing, API design, and system reliability.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve resilience, monitoring, and operational excellence.
Contribute to CI/CD improvements, automation, and engineering standards.
Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge within the team.
We’re looking for you if you have
Strong proficiency in Java and experience building production-grade backend services.
Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, API design, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
Experience with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming technologies.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development practices.
