The next great challenge is coming:
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join Room 8 Group with a focus on employment legal matters. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and wants to be a genuine business partner.
Room 8 Group is a 1,200-strong game development outsourcing studio with operations across Europe, Ukraine, the US, Canada, the UK, Brazil, and expanding into Asia. We partner with the world’s top publishers and developers to bring extraordinary games to life. As we scale, our legal function plays a critical role in protecting the business, enabling commercial growth, and ensuring we operate with integrity across every market we touch. Reporting directly to the VP of Legal, you will own a broad and varied portfolio of legal work across commercial contracting, IP, compliance, and employment matters.
Superpowers you have:
5+ years of legal experience in commercial law, with at least 2 years in an in-house role within a technology, IT services, media, or gaming company.
Strong hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and other B2B commercial agreements — you can run a contract negotiation end-to-end.
Experience working across multiple legal jurisdictions — you’re comfortable finding your way around an unfamiliar legal system quickly.
A commercial mindset that prioritises workable solutions over theoretical risk avoidance — you know when to find a path forward.
A clear, confident communicator who can translate legal complexity into plain language for business stakeholders at any level.
A genuine interest in the games and technology industry.
Becoming part of Room 8 Group, you will:
Advise People Operations Team on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions (Cyprus, Poland, the UK, Spain), including contracts, terminations, and workforce model structuring.
Own the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts across the full portfolio — client agreements, MSAs, SOWs, licensing deals, vendor contracts, and NDAs.
Serve as the day-to-day legal partner to Business Development, Client Services, HR, Finance, and Operations, delivering timely, commercially grounded advice.
Maintain and improve the contract management system, standard templates, and clause libraries that help the business move faster without sacrificing legal rigour.
Support the VP of Legal on M&A due diligence, corporate transactions, and strategic legal initiatives as the business continues to grow.
Join the team of inspiring game dev professionals, and get even more:
Competitive financial reward — yes, we are fair enough.
A senior in-house role with real ownership, variety, and direct impact on business outcomes.
The opportunity to grow within a scaling global legal function under strong VP-level leadership.
Exposure complex, multi-jurisdictional legal work across an exciting and fast-moving industry.
Private medical care and paid time off.
A culture of diversity and inclusion that unites outstanding talent from across the globe.
A community of passionate games industry professionals who love what they do — and who expect the same depth of expertise and commitment from their legal partner.
Together we will bring games to the next level.
Exactly with you.
