About the role:
First Orion is building a dedicated Salesforce Integration function as part of a broader data management practice. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who will not just support Salesforce, but build integrations, define engineering standards, shape solution lifecycle processes, establish the CI/CD approach, improve observability, and set technical governance principles for the Salesforce area.
What you will do:
• Design and build integrations between Salesforce, Databricks Lakehouse, First Orion Branded Calling APIs, ERPs, and other internal business systems. • Work with internal REST APIs, gRPC services, and Databricks Delta Sharing APIs. • Define Salesforce solution lifecycle processes: standards, governance, packaging, CI/CD strategy, change management, and observability. • Develop and maintain Apex classes and integration logic, with the scope expected to grow over time. • Diagnose integration and data issues, investigate broken synchronization scenarios, and ensure stable production integrations. • Work daily with Sales and IT teams, and regularly with Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Finance. • Educate other engineers on Salesforce development best practices and document the agreed approaches. • Follow First Orion’s development processes, architecture governance, code authoring guidelines, deployment and change management practices, and AI-assisted engineering approaches.
First 90 days:
• 50% of the time — standards, governance, current-state discovery, processes, and procedures for Salesforce development. Will change after 90 days down to 25% • 50% of the time — development of new solutions. Will change after 90 days up to 75% • Expected outcome: create a set of processes and procedures for managing the Salesforce solution lifecycle and develop and launch the first 2 integrations.
Required experience:
• 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience. • Strong Apex experience: classes, triggers, batch, queueable, and asynchronous processing. • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; understanding of integration architecture. • Ability to work with Git / Bitbucket and modern software development processes. • Experience defining processes, standards, or owning a technical area in a mature engineering environment. • Ability to communicate with Sales, IT, Finance, Marketing, Customer Success, and other non-technical stakeholders. • Strong spoken and written English for direct communication with the U.S. team. • Self-sufficiency: ability to quickly understand problems, propose solutions, and drive them to production.
Nice to have:
• Databricks, Lakehouse architecture, or Databricks Delta Sharing APIs. • SQL or data engineering experience. • Development experience with Java, Kotlin, or Go. • AWS integration services. • LWC, Salesforce platform architecture, Salesforce certifications. • Other relevant experience is an advantage, not a day-one requirement.
This role is a good fit for:

This role is not a good fit for:
• A candidate with mostly administrative, configuration, or consulting experience and no real development background. • Someone who needs a fully prepared roadmap and constant step-by-step instructions. • A specialist who avoids ownership or is uncomfortable with cross-functional communication. • A candidate whose spoken English is not strong enough for direct interaction with the U.S. team.
