Define problems and establish requirements together with Product, Manufacturing, and other Engineering teams. Identify gaps, challenge assumptions, and develop a clear understanding of what the product needs to achieve.
Plan and execute mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and redesign. Validate solutions against requirements and use test results to continuously improve designs.
Design for manufacturing, assembly, testing, and maintenance (DFX). Work closely with Manufacturing to transition designs from development into production.
Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to integrate components and resolve issues across mechanical and electrical systems.
Balance performance, reliability, cost, and speed. Make pragmatic engineering trade-offs when needed, understand and communicate their implications, and consider their impact on the overall product and delivery.

7+ years of professional engineering experience, with substantial hands-on work in mechanical design, rapid prototyping and production.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, including the design of mechanisms and structures, analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA), and physical testing.
Strong CAD skills and practical knowledge of tolerances and manufacturing methods.
Experience working with metals, plastics (3D printed and injection molded) and composite materials.
Demonstrated ability to investigate failures and improve designs based on analysis and test results.
