ProxyScrape is a global proxy provider helping developers and businesses access public web data through reliable proxy infrastructure.
Building on that foundation, we’ve developed a robust SERP API that scales to 500 requests per second. We’re looking for someone to take technical ownership of this product and spearhead our expansion into new scraping products.
The role
You’ll maintain and improve our SERP API, keeping it reliable as search engines and their anti-bot systems evolve. Alongside that, you’ll lead the technical exploration and development of new scrapers, taking ideas from initial experiments through to dependable production services.
We want someone who enjoys difficult scraping challenges, digs into why something works, developers their own solutions, and persists until the solution holds up at scale.
You should also be excited about integrating AI into this work: accelerating research, diagnosing failures, developing scrapers, and adapting to website changes. That includes building the tests, monitoring, and review processes needed to ensure those improvements preserve accuracy and reliability.
What you’ll do
Own our SERP API: maintain and improve success rates, response times, scalability, data quality, and cost per successful request.
Solve difficult scraping challenges: investigate browser behaviour, fingerprinting, cookies, sessions, JavaScript, and anti-bot systems.
Lead new scraping ventures: assess technical feasibility, build prototypes, and turn promising approaches into production products.
Experiment systematically: isolate variables, measure outcomes, and turn findings into repeatable improvements.
Build AI-assisted workflows: use AI to speed up scraper development, troubleshooting, and maintenance, with clear validation before changes reach production.
Protect quality: develop monitoring, regression tests, and data validation that detect both obvious failures and responses that look successful but contain incorrect or incomplete data. Shape our technical approach: make architecture and tooling decisions, document findings, and build reusable foundations for future scrapers.
Web-development: Help our team keep user facing dashboard, websites & backends up to date while scrapers require no attention.
What we’re looking for
A track record of building and maintaining production web scrapers.
Experience solving challenging anti-bot and browser automation problems.
Strong knowledge of HTTP, proxies, cookies, sessions, and browser behaviour. Strong programming skills and experience with browser automation tools such as Playwright or Puppeteer.
An understanding of concurrency, retries, resource management, and the trade-offs involved in scraping at scale.
A practical interest in AI coding tools, agents, and automated workflows, including how to validate their output.
The independence to identify problems, propose solutions, and carry them through to a verified result.
Experience with PHP (Laravel), Nextjs or similar syntax languages
Experience with search engine scraping, SERP APIs, browser fingerprinting, or high-volume scraping infrastructure would be particularly valuable.
Why this role
You’ll work with an established proxy infrastructure business and take ownership of a scraping product that already operates at significant scale. You’ll also have a direct role in deciding how we build and maintain the scraping products that come next.
This is a hands-on engineering role with substantial technical ownership and room to shape the direction of our scraping efforts.
