Blue Carrot is an e-learning agency specializing in the development of custom learning programs that turn knowledge into action. We are currently looking for an experienced Art Director to support our studio projects.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Creative Direction & Concept Development
Develop creative and visual concepts for e-learning projects.
Translate learning objectives and key messages into clear, functional, and visually compelling solutions.
Contribute to the development of the overall learning solution and understand how individual elements work together as part of a unified user experience.
Think through the learning experience across different formats, including LMS, workplace learning, video, Storyline, custom web pages, VR, and other custom solutions.
Ensure that solutions align with the client’s brand while maintaining a modern, relevant, and timeless visual style.
Working with various types of media: videos, presentations, PDFs, Articulate Storyline, etc.
2. Art Direction
Direct the work of designers, illustrators, motion designers, UI/UX designers, and other creative specialists.
Provide clear, constructive creative feedback.
Oversee the quality of the final output and ensure it aligns with the creative concept.
Maintain visual consistency across different contributors and project elements.
Create and maintain visual standards, guidelines, and rules for the team.
Develop key and reusable elements in detail, including their animation and motion behavior.
3. Storyboarding & Visual Development
Create storyboards for video and Articulate Storyline projects.
Produce rough sketches and prototypes to quickly communicate ideas, composition, and how a solution should work.
When needed, make hands-on adjustments in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant tools.
Support the team throughout the production process and help identify the most effective visual solutions.
4. Client Communication
Participate in client calls.
Lead creative briefings and gather the necessary materials and information.
Explain and present creative decisions.
Translate client needs and learning objectives into clear, actionable tasks for the creative team.
5. Quality Control
Oversee the quality of video, graphics, illustrations, motion, and interactive materials.
Establish and maintain standards for:
color grading;
keying;
audio levels;
visual style;
animation and other production elements.
Review final materials and ensure the consistency and integrity of the overall learning experience.
Who We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience as an Art Director.
Strong foundation in graphic design and visual composition.
Ability to independently create and develop visual concepts.
Ability to effectively art-direct other specialists and provide clear, actionable feedback.
Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
Experience creating storyboards and developing video/animation concepts.
Strong understanding of UX and the ability to think beyond individual screens or layouts and consider the overall user experience.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients.
High attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
