The role
Own our native iOS and Android apps from product decisions through working releases. Your first priority is to refactor the existing apps so they are easier to maintain, more reliable, and faster to improve. Alongside that work, you will independently ship useful features on both platforms with AI development tools.
This is a hands on product and engineering role. You will identify the user problem, choose the smallest useful solution, implement it, verify the code and behavior, release it, and measure the result.
What you will own
Audit the existing iOS and Android apps, identify the most costly reliability and delivery problems, and propose a practical refactoring plan.
Improve the apps incrementally while preserving working user flows, saved data, and release continuity.
Build and ship native features in Swift on iOS and Kotlin on Android. Work with the UI frameworks and architecture already present, and introduce changes where they solve a clear problem.
Use tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent assistants throughout development. Review and test generated code yourself.
Own product discovery, prioritization, feature scope, UX decisions, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
Handle testing, debugging, API integration, offline behavior, performance, accessibility, and crash investigation.
Take releases through TestFlight and Google Play testing, store submission, controlled rollout, monitoring, and recovery when something goes wrong.
Work directly with the founders and coordinate with backend, design, and other specialists when needed.
What we need
A product background with examples of turning a real user problem into a shipped outcome.
Personal experience shipping and maintaining mobile apps. Include App Store and Google Play links where available and explain exactly what you owned.
The ability to implement, debug, test, and release on both native platforms. Depth in one platform is welcome, with demonstrated working capability on the other.
Regular practical use of AI development tools, including examples of mistakes you caught in generated code and how you verified the final result.
Experience improving an existing codebase while continuing to deliver features.
Independent execution, clear written updates, and the judgment to ask for help when a risk needs specialist review.
English sufficient for clear technical and product collaboration with an international team.
Location and working arrangement
This is a full time remote role. Our recruiting focus is Kyiv, Ukraine; applicants elsewhere who meet the requirements are welcome. There is no fixed US time zone shift. We coordinate occasional meetings by agreement and expect reliable asynchronous communication.
Mr Task works across Los Angeles, Atlanta, and San Francisco and also has an office in Peru.
What to include in your application
Links to apps you personally helped ship, the platforms involved, and your specific contribution.
A short example of a feature you delivered using AI tools, including what you reviewed and tested yourself.
An example of a refactor or migration you completed in an existing product.
Your current location, availability, and preferred working arrangement.
Hiring process
Our intended process includes a mobile product competency assessment, a cognitive reasoning assessment, and a personality questionnaire, followed by human review and a practical discussion of your work.
The mobile product assessment is timed. You cannot return to a question after its time expires or after you submit it. Closing or reloading does not restart its timer. Follow the instructions shown with each of your assigned assessments; existing assignments retain their original format and timing. Cognitive results are reasoning test results, not a standardized IQ score. The personality questionnaire is descriptive and is not used to rank or automatically reject applicants.
