About us
Grona is a small product design studio working with early-stage founders in the US and Europe. Over the past three years we have designed 100+ mobile and web products across healthcare, wellness, productivity and social. We are a team of three designers, no account managers, no layers. Recent work includes a safety app for senior care, a marketplace for physician shifts, and a privacy-first social app.
About the role
You will own projects, not tasks. From the first client call through flows, wireframes, UI and handoff.
Our design lead, reviews your work and has your back when you get stuck. Ivan, the founder, stays on strategy and final quality. But the project is yours, and the client talks to you.
Briefs arrive incomplete. Timelines are short. Founders push back. We expect you to make the call and flag problems early rather than wait to be told.
What we need
3+ years in product design, ideally in an agency or studio
Mobile-first: iOS and Android as your primary craft, web adaptations when needed
Full cycle in practice: flows, wireframes, UI, design system, prototype, handoff, design QA
Comfortable running a client call and presenting your own decisions
Strong visual fundamentals: typography, composition, hierarchy. We do not ship generic
Enough technical literacy to know what is realistic and argue for it with developers
Spoken English good enough for client calls. Written fluency is not enough
AI tools as part of your actual workflow, not as an experiment

How we hire
20-minute intro call
Walkthrough of one project you led, end to end
Short paid test on a real project (8 to 16 hours, paid at your rate)
