Technical SEO Specialist — Esports Gaming Hub
What to expect of your role: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Technical SEO Specialist with a deep understanding of the esports and gaming industry. If you’re passionate about technical SEO, have solid experience in competitive gaming niches, and are ready to drive significant traffic growth in a fast-paced environment, this intensive project-based role is for you.
What you need to succeed in this role:
3+ years of technical SEO on large sites (50k+ pages) , programmatic or template-driven. Gaming, esports, sports data, betting or media is a strong plus.
Advanced proficiency with SEO tools including Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics;
Strong expertise in technical SEO fundamentals;
Demonstrated experience with backlink auditing, toxic link disavowal, and high-quality link building campaigns;
Experience with AI search visibility (AI Overviews, LLM citations).
Solid understanding of schema markup implementation and structured data;
Experience with sitemap optimization and resolving indexing issues;
Knowledge of frontend collaboration and performance optimization that impacts search rankings;
Excellent analytical skills with ability to work with large datasets, knowledge of SQL or Python as an advantage;
Gaming industry knowledge and understanding of esports community dynamics is highly preferred;
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
Self-direction — you set your own priorities, flag risks early, and ship to deadlines with light supervision.
You will be expected to:
Collaborate closely with our frontend developer to implement technical SEO improvements during development cycles;
Conduct thorough backlink analysis, identify toxic links, and implement strategic disavowal campaigns;
Fix sitemap structure, resolve indexing issues, and implement 301 redirect strategies for improved site architecture;
Develop and execute high-quality link building campaigns targeting niche-relevant domains within the esports ecosystem;
Create and align content strategy with our esports hub positioning, optimizing FAQ sections and expanding content for top-performing games;
Standardize on-page SEO elements and implement schema markup for enhanced search appearance;
Monitor and analyze organic performance using advanced analytics, providing regular updates on progress toward our 30% traffic growth goal;
Optimize Core Web Vitals, page speed metrics, and accessibility improvements that enhance SEO performance;
Perform competitive analysis within the esports industry to identify market opportunities and strategic advantages;
Work intensively across multiple website sections, managing various technical implementations simultaneously within the compressed timeline.
