We need a search strategist who treats organic and AI-driven visibility as a way to grow the business, not a checklist to grind through. You won't be micro-managed, and we don't care about vanity metrics. We care about strategy, data, and growth that shows up in the pipeline.

The job has changed. Ranking #1 on Google used to be the goal. Now it's the baseline. A big part of the work is getting your content cited and recommended by AI answer engines like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, because that's increasingly where buyers ask their questions. If you already get why entities, structured data, and topical authority matter here, and you've been experimenting with it yourself, keep reading.

What you'll own

Search and AI-visibility strategy. You'll shape the full organic funnel, from top-of-funnel informational content down to high-intent commercial pages, across both traditional search and generative engines. The roadmap is yours, not a ticket queue someone hands you.

Entity and topical authority. Build the topic clusters, internal linking, and entity model that make it clear to Google and LLMs what we're an authority on. Find keyword cannibalization and fix it before it caps our growth.

Technical and AI optimization. Audit and implement JSON-LD structured data (Organization, Product/Service, Breadcrumb, Article, Review) so our content is machine-readable. Own indexation, crawl efficiency, Core Web Vitals, and AI-search readiness, including entity-first content. The goal is getting included in answers, not just ranking blue links.

Authority and digital PR. Build authority through earned mentions, digital PR, and links that move rankings and feed the brand signals AI engines pay attention to. We want quality and relevance, not volume, and definitely no link farms.

Specs and enablement. Turn strategy into clear technical briefs and content specs our dev and content teams can act on without guesswork. You set the standard rather than waiting to be told what to scope.

Opportunity hunting. Watch the market, competitors, and shifts in how SERPs and AI answers behave, and find untapped demand before anyone else does, including emerging zero-click and AI-answer surfaces.

Analytics and reporting. Track what actually matters: non-brand organic traffic, conversions, qualified pipeline, and AI share-of-voice. No-click attribution is messy. Your job is to make sense of it and report it so stakeholders understand it and act on it.

Must-haves

At least 4 years of hands-on SEO with real case studies you can walk us through, including traffic or revenue outcomes.

Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or large content platforms. Comfort with both B2B and B2C is a plus.

Strong with the core stack: Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console, plus GA4, GTM and crawlers like Screaming Frog.

A real AEO/GEO mindset. You understand entity SEO, structured data, and how to optimize for citation in AI Overviews and LLM answers. Bonus if you've already shipped this kind of work.

A solid grasp of site architecture, Google ranking factors, and recent core and helpful-content updates, including how to diagnose and recover from volatility and cannibalization.

Responsible use of AI in your workflow. You can use LLMs to scale research, drafting, and analysis without losing accuracy or originality.

A self-starter who solves problems independently and brings solutions, not just findings.

Upper-Intermediate (B2) English or higher.

Nice to have

Experience recovering sites from core updates or untangling cannibalization at scale.

Programmatic or scaled-content SEO experience.

Familiarity with AI-citation and share-of-voice tracking, like Ahrefs Brand Radar or similar.

Basic technical literacy (HTML, schema, working with dev teams).

Additional languages for international markets.
