Takes total responsibility for data platform performance, pipeline health, and proactive issue resolution — investigates and resolves independently, then reports resolution rather than seeking approval mid-process.
Prioritizes rapid issue resolution and pragmatic fixes over theoretical code perfection to keep customer operations running smoothly.
Works closely with product managers and stakeholders, providing frequent updates (every 45 minutes) during production incident resolution.
Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, quickly shifting priorities when production bugs arise.

6+ years designing and building SQL-based data warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake).
Hands-on experience with Airbyte for ingestion (including building custom YAML files) and DBT for transforms.
6+ years of professional development experience with modern languages (Python and/or SQL) focused on data engineering, testing, and downstream pipeline validation.
Ability to work within modern SDLC frameworks, demonstrating high urgency, decision-making autonomy, and an on-duty mindset — resolving production issues within a ~30-minute target and communicating status every 45 minutes during an open incident, without waiting for sign-off before acting.
Daily, hands-on use of Claude Code (or an equivalent agentic coding tool) to investigate and ship fixes.
