About IMPACT Initiatives
IMPACT Initiatives (IMPACT) is a humanitarian NGO, based in Geneva, Switzerland, with the aim to improve the impact of humanitarian, stabilization and development action through data, partnerships and capacity building programs. The organization manages several initiatives, which includes i) the REACH Initiative aimed at facilitating the development of information products that enhance the humanitarian community’s decision making and planning capacity for emergency, reconstruction and development contexts, ii) the PANDA Initiative aimed at directly supporting key aid actors in improving the effectiveness, efficiency, and efficacy of their programs, and iii) the AGORA Initiative aimed at promoting localized and multi-sectoral aid action in support of the recovery and stabilization of crisis- affected communities.
With over 400 staff members, including assessment, data analysis, GIS experts and field professionals, IMPACT currently has projects in over 25 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. IMPACT is a sister organization of ACTED, a French NGO with headquarters in Paris. The two organizations have a strong complementarity formalized in a global partnership, enabling IMPACT to benefit from ACTED’s operational support in its fields of intervention.
CONTEXT
Under the supervision of the Resilience & Spatial Planning Unit Senior Assessment Officer, the REACH Senior Data Officer is responsible for the processes and outputs related to data processing in the unit. She/he will oversee and manage all data cleaning, data processing, data analysis, and data visualization activities in cooperation with IMPACT team in country and in Geneva.
Under the supervision of the Cross-Cutting Technical Team Data Specialist, the REACH Senior Data Officer is supporting other units with data-related ad-hoc requests and with advanced cross-unit projects.
FUNCTIONS
1. Data quality assurance and data visualization activities within the unit
Within the RSPU the IMPACT Senior Data Officer will be responsible for:
Supervision of all data related processes before the beginning, during and after data collection.
Ensuring data quality and compliance with internal and external workflows for all research cycles within the unit.
Supporting the development of internal IM procedures and guidelines.
Coordinating and collaborating with various partners on data needs both within specific research cycles and across the response more widely.
Improving the quality of secondary data collection.
Leading and coordination of the development of interactive dashboards and other visualizations within the unit.
2. Cross-project and external support
Within the CCTT the IMPACT Senior Data Officer will be responsible for:
Providing support to other units on ad-hoc requests related to standard procedures of data collection, data cleaning and analysis.
Providing support to CCTT on data-related requests from external stakeholders.
Developing and conducting advanced cross-unit projects that involve primary and secondary data.
The activities of the Senior Data Officer within CCTT can take up to 50% of working time, with the actual percentage being determined based on the current needs of RSPU.
