We are looking for an experienced Ceph Developer to join a team working on the core components of the Ceph distributed storage platform. You will contribute to feature development, performance optimization, and long-term platform stability, working with both upstream Ceph and internal forks.
This role combines low-level systems programming, distributed storage engineering, and cloud-native infrastructure in large-scale Kubernetes environments.
Core Competence:
5+ years of professional experience with C++ and Python with strong knowledge of system-level programming and software development practices.
Hands-on experience with Ceph storage platform components, including one or more of:
RGW (RADOS Gateway)
RADOS
RBD (RADOS Block Device)
CephFS
Strong understanding of Linux internals, including I/O operations, memory management, concurrency, and threading.
Experience designing and implementing features for distributed storage systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
Practical experience with Kubernetes-based environments, including integration with Rook and Ceph CSI drivers.
Experience working with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines in software development workflows.
Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure, cloud-native architectures, and production operations.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and telemetry systems.
Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed system issues and debug low-level behavior in production environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous contributions to open-source projects, especially the Ceph community.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenStack.
Knowledge of performance profiling tools, benchmarking methodologies, and storage optimization techniques.
Experience with object storage technologies, including S3 and Swift protocols.
Understanding of storage system reliability patterns, data consistency, and fault-tolerant architectures.
Experience working in Agile teams with technical documentation, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing practices.
