Impressit is looking for a Middle/Middle Strong Backend Engineer with Azure Experience to join a cross-functional product team working on a distributed microservices platform for one of London’s leading internet providers. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a large-scale telecom platform that powers customer-facing applications, internal operational tools, and network provisioning services, while working with modern technologies and international teams.
This is an opportunity to work with a mature, well-documented microservices architecture, contribute to both greenfield features and the evolution of core services, and collaborate closely with a cross-functional squad delivering real value to end customers.
What do we expect? — 3+ years of commercial experience as a Backend Engineer — Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js — Experience with Microsoft Azure and its core services — Practical experience with React.js; experience with Next.js will be a strong advantage — Solid understanding of microservices architecture and REST API design (RPC knowledge is a plus) — Hands-on experience with messaging systems (Azure Service Bus or similar) — Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB) and caching solutions (Redis) — Experience with containerization using Docker — Good understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, Bearer Tokens, Auth0 or similar) — Proven ability to write automated tests (unit, integration, Cypress) — Good understanding of CI/CD workflows and Git-based development — Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills — Good communicator, comfortable working in cross-functional distributed teams — Strong Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, OOP, architecture) — Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English
What will you do? — Build and maintain backend microservices using Node.js and the internal framework — Develop and support customer-facing and internal web applications using React.js and Next.js — Design and implement REST APIs and asynchronous integrations using Azure Service Bus — Integrate with internal and third-party systems, including Salesforce, Auth0, and other business platforms — Work with PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis to build scalable and reliable services — Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design discussions to deployment — Write and maintain automated tests to ensure high code quality — Contribute to Azure-based infrastructure, Dockerized deployments, and CI/CD pipelines — Collaborate closely with product managers, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional development teams — Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to technical documentation and architecture improvements
As a plus: — Experience with Salesforce integrations — Familiarity with Redux, Easy Peasy, or other state management libraries — Experience with Tailwind CSS, SASS/SCSS, Vite, or Webpack — Experience with headless CMS platforms — Previous work in the telecom or ISP domain — Experience building internal frameworks or improving developer experience — Passion for clean code, scalable architecture, and high-quality user-focused solutions
