Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams — no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.
In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.
Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.
If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a Lab Engineer to build and own the technical foundation of our physical lab. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust hardware and software test environments — ensuring the lab is scalable, reliable, and always ready to support critical firmware and device testing. This is a great role for someone who thrives on hands-on infrastructure work, takes full ownership of results, and brings a forward-thinking approach to lab operations.
What you’ll do:
Lab Infrastructure Design: Drive the design, architecture, and implementation of lab infrastructure from scratch, taking full ownership of the outcome and proposing optimal technical solutions
Environment Setup and Maintenance: Perform hands-on setup, configuration, optimization, and day-to-day maintenance of hardware and software test environments
Automation and Orchestration: Implement automation and orchestration solutions for hardware and software involved in lab operations, including CI/CD pipeline support and configuration management
Testing Pipeline Enablement: Work closely with test automation team to support efficient and reliable testing pipelines for firmware and mobile devices
Infrastructure Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, propose improvements, and drive continuous enhancements to lab reliability and scalability
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering and QA teams to align lab capabilities with evolving product and testing requirements
Technical Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of lab architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
What we need:
Infrastructure Experience: Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling on-premises infrastructure, including physical test devices and supporting systems
Linux and Networking Expertise: Strong command of Unix/Linux systems and networking fundamentals — LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, NAT — with the ability to design robust network architectures
Automation Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices, automation infrastructure frameworks, and orchestration/configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
Hardware Skills: Soldering skills and a working understanding of PCB design and schematics; practical experience with Raspberry Pi/Arduino for building and testing solutions
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a forward-thinking approach to diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues
Ownership Mindset: Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of lab operations and results while collaborating effectively across teams
Communication Skills: Intermediate English (B1) or higher, both written and spoken
What you’ll get:
Work on meaningful products that protect lives and shape the future of Defense Tech
Dynamic environment with the unique opportunity to directly influence and see the impact of your work
Lean, ambitious, and strong team
Competitive salary, benefits package (insurance, paid sick leaves, 20 paid days off per year)
Benefits of the defense sector (reservation and related benefits)
On-site work at one of our Kyiv labo
