About the role
COMPARUS is a technology company with headquarters in Germany and a strong software development team in Ukraine.
We’re expanding from building a single enterprise platform to a delivery model that can support future products through the same AI agent factory.
Our first product, TiONA NextGen, is already in active delivery. Today, more than 400 AI agents work across 5 Solution Trains and 12 ARTs to develop a platform with 23 modules and 55 bounded contexts. This is live production work—not a pilot.
We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead this next stage: defining how software is built, reviewed, delivered, and scaled in an organization where engineers and AI agents work together.
You will report directly to the CEO and have full ownership of architecture, tooling, processes, and agent design.

What you’ll be responsible for
Strategy & Operating Model
Define how the organization scales as products and delivery grow.
Establish engineering standards across architecture, delivery, and quality.
Define measurable quality, stability, and delivery indicators.
Evolve the three-role operating model across Product, Delivery, and Governance.
Agent Factory
Own multi-agent orchestration, including roles, behavioral contracts, memory systems, and MCP tooling.
Define how engineers and agents collaborate throughout delivery.
Manage LLM provider strategy and token budgets.
Build and improve quality gates for agent-generated code.
Architecture & Delivery
Own architecture across 55 bounded-context services.
Drive consistency across APIs, platform components, and shared engineering standards.
Own GitOps pipelines, CI/CD, deployment reliability, observability, and engineering metrics.
Ensure generated code passes automated review, security scanning, and compliance checks before production.
Leadership
Lead the transition from engineers writing software to engineers steering agent-based delivery.
Build an organization that uses AI while maintaining responsibility for quality, security, and compliance.
Connect the CEO’s product vision with engineering execution.
What success looks like
After 30 days
Develop a clear understanding of the platform, architecture, SDLC, bottlenecks, risks, and the agent ecosystem.
After 60 days
Quality gates, DevSecOps pipelines, engineering metrics, and agent monitoring are operational and used across delivery.
After 90 days
Delivery is driven by repeatable systems rather than individual effort. Domain teams operate within the hybrid delivery model, and the organization is ready to support the next external rollout.
Within 6–12 months
The same delivery model supports multiple products while maintaining quality, governance, and engineering standards.
We’d like to meet someone who
Has built and shipped distributed backend systems.
Has hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, and DevSecOps.
Has practical experience with LLM APIs, agent-based systems, or MCP.
Can review Java and TypeScript code at the architectural level.
Has led technical and organizational change.
Is comfortable working in a model where agents generate most of the implementation while engineers remain responsible for architecture, review, and technical decisions.
