Who we are We are a small and ambitious engineering team building a large, unconventional autonomous marine drone platform. We have already built and tested the prototype and are now focused on scaling the system into a robust full-scale vehicle for real-world deployment. Our work sits at the intersection of robotics, embedded systems, autonomy, communications, and harsh-environment hardware engineering.
The role You will own the electronics architecture and hardware development of the vehicle: power systems, sensor integration, communications, embedded interfaces, and board bring-up. This is not a “design PCBs and hand them off” role. You will work closely with embedded and autonomy engineers, iterate rapidly on prototypes, participate in field testing, and help shape the hardware platform as the system evolves from prototype to production.
What you will work on • Design mixed-signal electronic systems for control, navigation, communications, and power distribution • Develop schematics and multilayer PCB layouts in Altium Designer • Design reliable hardware for electrically noisy and harsh marine environments • Work on embedded interfaces including CAN, UART, RS485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PWM • Integrate sensors, GNSS, radios, LTE, and onboard compute systems • Power architecture: DC/DC conversion, grounding, filtering, protection, and distribution • Board bring-up, debugging, validation, and rapid iteration of prototypes • EMI/EMC optimization and robustness against interference and electronic warfare conditions • Hardware validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and lab instrumentation • Collaborate closely with embedded software engineers during integration and field testing • Drive hardware revisions from prototype stage toward production-ready systems • Create manufacturing and engineering documentation: BOMs, Gerbers, assembly files, test procedures, and validation reports
What we are looking for Must-haves • Strong experience in hardware/electronics design for embedded systems • Proficiency with Altium Designer • Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics • Experience designing around STM32-class microcontrollers or similar embedded platforms • Comfortable with CAN, UART, RS485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and related interfaces • Experience with power electronics and embedded power systems • Hands-on bring-up and debugging experience on real hardware • Comfortable working with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, spectrum analyzers • Understanding of EMI/EMC, signal integrity, grounding, and hardware reliability • Experience taking hardware from prototype to manufacturable revisions • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with firmware/software engineers
Nice to have • GNSS, LTE, RF, or radio communications experience • Experience with robotics, drones, autonomous systems, or defense-related hardware • Environmental or vibration testing experience • High-speed or mixed-signal PCB design • Exposure to marine, automotive, aerospace, or industrial systems
Working with us • Ownership of critical vehicle hardware systems • Fast iteration cycles and close HW/SW collaboration • Real engineering constraints instead of purely theoretical work • Difficult technical problems without off-the-shelf answers • Field testing where hardware gets pushed to its limits • Direct impact on the architecture of a next-generation autonomous platform • Small team with high autonomy and low bureaucracy
