We are building a digital learning platform for maritime education and training. Our goal is to create a modern digital university for maritime professionals, combining LMS, certifications, and real-world industry integration. We are currently at an early stage and working with an Open edX vendor to build and customise the core platform.
About the Role
We are looking for a Chief Academic Officer (CAO) & Provost.
Responsible for the strategic leadership and academic excellence of IMU's global educational portfolio, including degree programs, professional maritime training, STCW pathways, quality assurance, accreditation development, and international academic partnerships.
Driving innovation in maritime education through the integration of academic excellence, industry relevance, digital learning technologies, and global standards.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in maritime education and training
Experience in curriculum development and academic management
Knowledge of STCW Convention, IMO Model Courses, EQF, and international quality standards
Experience with accreditation and quality assurance systems
Leadership experience at the level of Rector, Provost, Dean, Academic Director, or equivalent
