Every project we take on starts with a 3D laser scan of an existing building. We need someone who can take that scan, make sense of it, and turn it into drawings and models that architects and engineers can rely on.
This role suits a drafter or modeler with roughly 2 years in the field who knows buildings well and wants to move into Scan-to-BIM work. Point cloud experience is a bonus. We’ll help you get up to speed.
Your day-to-day
Modeling existing buildings in Revit or drafting them in AutoCAD from point cloud scans
Delivering as-built floor plans, elevations, sections and simple 3D models
Comparing your output against the scan and making sure the numbers add up
Staying in sync with the project team on scope, priorities and deadlines
Picking up tools and shortcuts that make repetitive modeling faster
You’ll fit in if you
Have 2 or so years of hands-on drafting or modeling for buildings
Are comfortable working in AutoCAD, Revit, or both
Can read architectural drawings and quickly understand how a building is put together
Catch small inconsistencies before anyone else does
Keep your work organized and your files clean
Can communicate in English with the team day to day
Enjoy learning new software
Extra points for
Any Scan-to-BIM or point cloud project experience
Hands-on time with Autodesk ReCap, CloudCompare or similar
Dynamo, scripting, or any attempt to automate your own workflow
Strong building and drafting fundamentals matter more to us than a perfect tool match. If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
