The Role
You will own delivery for 1–2 active projects (one large or two smaller ones), from kickoff through release and ongoing iterations. You’ll be the person the client talks to and the person the team trusts to remove obstacles, protect scope, and keep quality and margin healthy at the same time.
You’ll also join pre-sale activities from time to time — discovery calls, scoping, estimation, and helping shape a proposal that we can actually deliver.
What makes this role different from a classic PM job: we expect you to be technical enough to hold your own in an architecture discussion, and AI-fluent enough to prototype an idea yourself instead of waiting a sprint to see it. You won’t write production code — but you should be able to turn a raw requirement into a working clickable thing, a data model sketch, or a proof of concept that ends an argument.
What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end delivery of 1–2 projects: planning, scope, timeline, budget, risks, team load, and client communication.
Run the delivery process (Scrum / Kanban, whichever fits the project) and keep it lightweight — process should serve the team, not the other way around.
Translate business goals into a high-level solution outline together with engineers: what we’re building, what we’re deliberately not building, and why.
Analyze and challenge incoming requirements from first principles — find the actual job to be done before the team starts estimating.
Break down epics into a backlog that engineers can pick up without a follow-up meeting, and keep it groomed.
Prototype quickly using AI tooling: clickable flows, throwaway prototypes, data model drafts, sample integrations — to validate an idea with the client before it costs a sprint.
Bring AI into how the project is delivered: AI-assisted code review, test generation, documentation, release notes, and other steps inside the CI/CD pipeline — and be able to argue where it helps and where it doesn’t.
Spot opportunities where AI can create real value for the client’s business, and turn them into concrete, scoped proposals.
Participate in pre-sale: discovery calls, requirement gathering, effort estimation, scoping, and proposal input.
Report transparently — to the client and internally. Bad news travels fast and early.
Grow the account: healthy delivery is the best sales channel we have.
What We’re Looking For
Project management foundation
5+ years managing software development projects, ideally in an outsourcing / product studio setting with direct client contact.
Solid command of Agile delivery, estimation, risk management, and scope and budget control.
Confident written and spoken English (B2+) — you’ll run client calls yourself.
The ability to say “no” to a client and keep the relationship better than before.
Technical fluency
High-level understanding of modern software development technologies and environments — React, Node.js, AWS — enough to follow architecture discussions, ask the right questions, and judge whether an estimate makes sense.
Ability to analyze project requirements at a high level and shape them into a solution outline with the team.
Understanding of the SDLC end-to-end: environments, branching, code review, QA, CI/CD, releases, monitoring.
AI fluency (essential for this role)
You are an active, daily user of AI tools — not an observer. You have opinions about which tools work for what, and you can show what you’ve built with them.
Spec-driven prototyping with AI: you can go from requirements to a working prototype using AI coding tools, starting from first principles rather than prompting your way into a mess. You understand what the generated code does, where it will break, and when to hand it over to engineers versus throw it away.
Familiarity with how AI is integrated into a CI/CD pipeline — automated review, test generation, documentation, quality gates — and a realistic view of its limits.
