Your expertise:
Deep hands-on experience with at least one of .NET, Java, Node.js, PHP, Python or comparable, plus enough breadth to reason about the others. Strong object oriented design, with functional thinking a plus
Solid grasp of distributed systems, networking and communication patterns, and several database models, including the tradeoffs each one carries. Production experience with more than one database model
JavaScript and TypeScript across browser and server, the Node.js toolset, and a modern front-end framework
A track record of taking solutions from idea to production, from specification through prototype and proof of concept to rollout, using AI agents to move faster along that path
Command of architectural, design and infrastructure patterns, and the ability to write a decision down so it still makes sense a year later
Depth in CI / CD, automated testing and developer tooling
Security is treated as a design concern rather than a review gate: ability to threat model a solution, recognise the common vulnerability classes and the patterns that defend against them, and judge how serious a reported issue actually is
A proactive stance on quality, with the willingness to take a position and argue for it in an agile setting where architecture has to keep pace with delivery
Working with LLMs and AI agents:
Fluent daily use of LLM agents in your own work, to the point where it changes the scale of what you can take on rather than just saving you typing
A working model, built from practice, of what agents are good at and where they fall over. Ability to judge which part of a problem to hand over and which part to keep
Ability to build the harness around the model: context assembly, prompting, tool and function calling, structured output, retrieval, and the feedback loops that let an agent check and correct its own work
A habit of pushing agents past the obvious use and getting real results out of tasks that look out of reach at first. Treating a poor result as a signal to improve the setup rather than proof that the model cannot do it
A feel for the operational shape of LLM features: latency, cost per request, token budgets, rate limits, fallback behaviour, and the failure modes worth designing against
Judgement about when an LLM is the right tool and when a deterministic solution is the better answer
Will definitely be a plus:
Experience building applications on AWS, GCP, Azure or a similar cloud provider
Experience with LLM evaluation harnesses or observability for AI features
Background in domains, hosting, registry or payments
