A data-driven TravelTech/InsurTech platform for real-time travel care, streamlined claims, and proactive disruption management.
Your Tasks:
Build, improve, and release scalable, high-performance backend services for web and mobile products.
Take full ownership of backend features and services across the entire lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support.
Write clean, maintainable, well-structured, and properly documented TypeScript code.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and backend data flows.
Contribute to architecture decisions and participate in code reviews.
Investigate production issues and continuously improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Work closely with product, engineering, and other team members in a fast-paced product environment.
Required Experience and Skills:
6+ years of professional backend development experience.
3+ years of recent hands-on Node.js experience, ideally across current or recent commercial production projects.
Advanced TypeScript proficiency and confidence working with production TypeScript code.
Practical production experience with NestJS.
Solid PostgreSQL or relational database experience, including schema design, queries, data flows, and optimization.
Experience working with scalable production systems.
Deep understanding of backend engineering fundamentals, including APIs, service design, architecture, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including investigation of production issues.
Ability to work independently, own backend work end-to-end, and deliver with limited day-to-day supervision.
Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
Would Be a Plus:
Experience working with AWS and cloud-based production systems.
Experience with microservices and/or distributed system architecture.
Hands-on experience with event-driven or asynchronous processing, queues/message brokers, caching, and real-time workflows.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD processes.
Experience improving backend performance, observability, scalability, and overall system reliability.
