GoHard is looking for a Sales & Business Development Partner (Upwork + other channels)
We're a software development agency (Django/Python, React/Next.js, AI integrations). I handle the technical side and operations myself, and I'm now looking for someone to take ownership of sales and business development as their own area - not as a hired employee, but as a partner who builds this direction together with me.
This isn't a "sales manager" job posting. This is a partnership offer.
You close sales/BD, I handle technical delivery and operational project management. Together we grow the agency.
Right now the main sales channel is Upwork, lead generation- automatic (GigRadar), but I'm open to expanding into other channels (LinkedIn, Fiverr, direct outreach, partnerships, niche platforms) and it's the partner who helps decide where to go next.
Who I'm looking for: - 2+ years of sales experience in IT/software development (Upwork and/or other channels: LinkedIn, direct sales, freelance platforms) full-cycle - Business development experience - the ability to see growth opportunities, not just close inbound leads - Upper-intermediate+ English (written and spoken) required - Basic understanding of the web development process enough to filter relevant projects and navigate technical terminology. No need to go deep: for key client negotiations, I bring in a technical specialist from the team, so you're never on your own with complex technical questions - Understanding of the sales funnel and ability to build your own hypotheses for improving conversion - Ability to work without micromanagement - this is key, since partnership requires high autonomy - Client-oriented approach and ability to build long-term relationships, not just one-off deals - Experience with cold outreach / lead generation beyond Upwork (email, LinkedIn, direct channels). Upwork lead generation is automated on our end - Willingness to test new sales channels rather than relying solely on Upwork - Entrepreneurial mindset: readiness to take ownership of the direction's results, not just execute instructions
What's in your area of responsibility: - Full sales cycle Upwork as the primary channel for now, with room to expand into others - Building and developing the company's sales strategy (participating in shaping it, not just executing a given one) - Lead generation, cold mailing, developing new client acquisition channels - Negotiations, identifying client needs, building long-term relationships - Market analysis, finding new niches and directions for the business - Jointly defining company growth priorities with the founder
