On behalf of our client, an international fintech company specializing in complex merchant segments, we are hiring a Payments Partnerships Manager to own both payment provider relationships and merchant onboarding execution.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role.
We are looking for someone who has worked inside a PSP, acquirer, payment institution, or banking environment, and understands how onboarding decisions are actually made, including underwriting expectations, risk appetite, and approval mechanics.
If you know how to get merchants approved — not just submitted — this role is for you.
What You’ll Own:
End-to-end merchant onboarding with PSPs, acquirers, payment institutions, and banks — from first submission to final approval
Direct communication with underwriting, risk, and compliance teams on the provider side
Building and managing PSP, acquiring, and banking relationships across multiple jurisdictions
Structuring and optimizing KYB packages, merchant profiles, and onboarding documentation
Matching merchants with the right providers based on risk appetite, vertical, and geography
Increasing approval rates through pre-qualification and effective merchant positioning
Identifying and onboarding new payment partners, PSPs, acquirers, and banking partners
Handling complex merchant onboarding cases across different business models and jurisdictions
Maintaining structured pipeline tracking through CRM and internal tools
Who This Role Is For:
We are specifically targeting candidates who have:
Hands-on experience inside a PSP, acquirer, payment institution, or bank
Direct involvement in merchant onboarding, underwriting, or account approval processes
A clear understanding of how payment providers assess:
Merchant risk
Business models
Transaction flows
Processing requirements
Experience working with:
Acquiring setups and MIDs
Payment flows
SEPA / SWIFT environments
Ability to manage multiple onboarding cases simultaneously with strong attention to detail
Confidence communicating with both:
Merchants and clients
Risk, compliance, underwriting, and commercial teams on the provider side
Strong Advantage:
Experience with complex or higher-risk merchant verticals
Background in merchant underwriting, risk, or onboarding teams
Existing network of PSPs, acquirers, payment institutions, or banking partners
Familiarity with AML/KYC in a payments context, rather than purely compliance-focused roles
Experience in payment consulting, merchant advisory, or onboarding operations
Strong understanding of cross-border acquiring and payment infrastructure
What You’ll Get:
100% remote setup
Exposure to complex, cross-border payment ecosystems
Direct work with international PSPs, acquirers, and banking partners
Real ownership over onboarding strategy and partner relationships
Clear path toward Head of Payments / Partnerships
Competitive, performance-driven compensation
