AML & Compliance Officer (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, proactive AML & Compliance Officer who understands that strong compliance isn’t about stopping business — it’s about enabling sustainable growth.
If you have a solid legal background in fintech, crypto, or banking, and know how to design robust AML/CFT frameworks that adapt to global regulatory shifts, we’d love to have you on board.
What You’ll Do
Own the AML Architecture: Design, refine, and maintain our end-to-end AML/CFT frameworks, including KYC/CDD/EDD protocols, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention.
Act as Our Regulatory Radar: Track evolving financial and crypto regulations across key jurisdictions (EU, Canada, LATAM) and translate complex legal rules into actionable business steps.
Drive Licensing & Regulatory Ops: Lead regulatory licensing initiatives (VASP, PSP/EMI) and manage direct relationships with regulators, external legal counsel, and auditors.
Manage Legal Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate international commercial agreements, Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, NDAs, and core internal governance policies.
Partner with Business Teams: Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and Risk teams to integrate compliance seamlessly into new product launches and daily operations.
What We Expect
3+ years of real-world experience in AML, compliance, or regulatory law within Fintech, Crypto (VASP), Payment Services (PSP/EMI), or Banking.
Hands-on AML expertise: Practical experience designing risk-based AML/CFT systems from scratch, not just following templates.
International Regulatory Knowledge: Solid grasp of FATF standards, risk-based approaches (RBA), and regulatory frameworks across the EU, Canada, LATAM, or other global markets.
Audit & Licensing Background: Track record of guiding companies through regulatory inspections, audits, and licensing processes.
Nice to Have
Certifications: Professional credentials such as CAMS, ICA, or CFCS.
Crypto Expertise: Hands-on experience with VASP licensing or Web3/blockchain projects.
Languages: Upper-Intermediate English (B2+) or higher.
Mindset: Strong business judgment — the ability to protect the company while keeping business goals in sight.
