About the Role
We’re looking for an AI Speaker Recruitment & Outreach Associate to help identify and recruit strong AI practitioners, researchers, founders, and technical experts for ODSC conferences and events.
This is a research-driven outbound role. You’ll track what is happening across AI and data science, find people doing interesting work, and build relationships with them through thoughtful, persistent outreach. Speaker recruitment is the primary measure of success.
What You’ll Do
Research and identify high-quality prospective speakers across AI, machine learning, data science, open source, and emerging technology.
Own speaker outreach from initial research and personalized contact through follow-up, submission, and confirmation.
Manage a clear pipeline of prospective speakers and consistently follow up with high-priority targets.
Track emerging AI topics, projects, companies, and technical communities to help shape future ODSC programming.
Evaluate whether prospective speakers and topics are timely, credible, and relevant to the ODSC audience.
Share useful speaker, topic, and market insights with the marketing team to support campaigns and content ideas.
What We’re Looking For
1–3 years of experience in SDR/BDR, outbound lead generation, recruiting, executive search, business development, or a similar role.
Strong research skills and the ability to quickly understand who someone is, what they work on, and why it matters.
Genuine interest in AI and emerging technology. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should enjoy learning about the space.
Strong written communication skills, especially for personalized cold outreach.
Persistent, goal-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing many active conversations at once.
Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for research, analysis, and writing.
Bonus: experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot or another CRM, GitHub, Hugging Face, arXiv, or technical communities.
