About the Team and Role
You’ll join the Billing team and take ownership of the Taxes module — a core part of our billing system responsible for tax calculation and reporting across multiple locations.
The product has already moved beyond MVP and is actively used by customers. The foundational logic is in place, demand is high, and the next step is scaling functionality and reliability.
This role is exciting because you’re not maintaining legacy code — you’re building and shaping a critical system almost from scratch. As Lead, you’ll take full ownership of the Taxes direction, drive end-to-end architectural decisions, and build and grow the team around it.
Your team — Product Owner, 1 Senior Engineer, 1 Junior Engineer, Automation QA, and Tax Manager.

What you’ll own
As a Lead Developer, you’ll set the technical direction for the team and take end-to-end ownership of how we build and scale our tax platform. Your focus will be on:
defining the architecture and technical strategy for tax calculation and reporting logic
leading the integration of third-party tax providers and owning those technical partnerships
driving system resilience, uptime, and scalability across services
making high-impact architectural decisions and establishing engineering standards and best practices
leading, mentoring, and growing the engineering team, and helping shape hiring as the team scales
In your first months, you’ll deliver core tax functionality, establish a solid technical foundation, and define the engineering practices that will support future product and team growth.
