About Zutobi
Zutobi is the #1 drivers ed app in the US. Five Swedish brothers founded it in 2018 because traditional drivers ed was boring, expensive, and didn’t actually teach people to drive safely. We turned it into something gamified, mobile-first, and affordable.
Today we have 10M+ downloads, 300K+ monthly users, and 200K+ five-star ratings. We operate in six countries (US, UK, Australia, Sweden, Germany, France) and have been featured by Apple twice. Our second product, Zutobi Instructor, is a management platform for driving schools.
We’re a team of 80+ people. Profitable, growing, and not VC-burnout culture.
The role
We’re hiring a Junior PR Manager to grow Zutobi’s voice in the US media. You’ll work directly with our Head of Communications and own day-to-day media outreach across consumer, education, and tech press.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll pitch, write, and place stories, not just coordinate them.
What you’ll do
Pitch story ideas to journalists at consumer outlets (parenting, lifestyle, automotive), education trade press, and tech media
Build and maintain a US media list of reporters, editors, podcasters, and freelancers
Write press releases, media pitches, founder quotes, and reactive comments on news cycles (DMV changes, road safety stories, teen driving stats)
Run our seasonal data PR. We publish original research on teen driving, road safety, and state-by-state license data, and reporters love it
Coordinate interviews with media
Track coverage, share results, and figure out what’s working
Work with the social and content teams when stories overlap
What we need
1+ year in PR, agency or in-house, B2C tech or consumer app preferred
Advanced English (C1+). You’ll be writing pitches that land in US inboxes, so the bar is high
A few clips or coverage examples you can show us
Comfortable cold-pitching. Most of this job is reaching out to people who don’t know you yet
Organized enough to track 50+ open conversations without losing threads
Curious about edtech, mobility, or how Gen Z learns
Nice to have
Existing relationships with US journalists
Experience with HARO, Qwoted, or similar platforms
